Abuse Substance

Adaptation of Hospital

Each division, a squadron or unit of a hospital is a social entity. While the social environment of the nursery unit changes when parents are allowed to enter or phone 24 hours a day. Before moving to a new, more flexible visiting policy, staff must be impeccable preparation. At the time, before the mothers and fathers were allowed to have open access, the nursery was like a house with the head nurse as a butler. It has been our experience that nurses in these units often develop close attachments to babies in their care closely every day. As mothers and fathers came to this unit, which had been the domain of nurses, policy changes were needed. There was ovious simple nurses need to adapt to the reality of the presence of the parent and all that implies.

Nurses must understand that it is advantageous for parents to share responsibility for the care of their infants and its game of the nursery with the nurses and doctors. It is not easy to explain patiently to parents worried about how to conduct a procedure that the nurse or doctor has, the habit of doing, and can manage more effectively. A further complication arises because the mother and nurse are often jealous of each other, and these feelings must be anticipated, discussed and resolved before the plant nursery can run properly. This is the long-term outcome that must be kept in mind and the fact that parents are responsible for providing comprehensive care for the baby after discharge.

The Challenges in Future

Motivation is a rich and evolving field that has seen much progress in its relatively short history. In more than six decades following an overview of Hull, there were major upheavals in the area (the transition from behaviorism to cognition), and new theories and concepts have been introduced, and novel research directions have been conducted ( such as the finding that rewards can decrease motivation). Principles of motivation have been described that could become the basis for intervention. A little is known, for example, on the positive motivation to attribute failure to lack of effort rather than low-capacity, selection of tasks of intermediate difficulty, and emphasis on control rather that surpass others.

All these principles are good theoretical and empirical. The future challenge will be to study motivation in context. Consider the expected yield, values and objectives and how they are expressed in the broader context of social and cultural influences could provide important clues for understanding the challenges faced by many young scholars from ethnic minorities. Addressing these problems will be a useful step toward promoting the field of motivation research in education and ensuring its continued vitality.
